The circular canvas, the tondo, is a painting format used in previous centuries.

Here, the exuberant semi-abstract floral subject is inspired by ancient wallpapers. It is perfectly suited to this highly decorative and original format. The old-fashioned “floral” style, the “floral seedlings” that were fashionable long ago, are revisited with the modern “pop art” touches of acid colours.

It is a subject that lends itself well to gesture, to plastic expression, with the profusion of pure and saturated shapes and colours interpreting the natural vegetal profusion. The pictorial style is spontaneous, “baroque” and lively, mixing impressionism and modern painting. The contemporary style is accentuated by the lively and urgent touches and by the “dripping”, cherished by contemporary artists.
