An expressive, contemporary oil painting of pink roses, with dark olive green foliage on a gray-green gestural background.
I love the accidental drips on the roses and the use of sheer olive green mixed with a sheer magenta pink to evoke the faded petals, as seen on roses, after the rain.
Some flowers are worked with a palette knife. Some parts of the work are made of glaze, others alla prima.
This painting is rich in transparencies and opacities.
