“Garden in autumn n°2”, acrylic on canvas, 92X65 cm.

This series of “Autumns in the garden” is inspired by the “St Martin’s summers” in Touraine, those flamboyant autumns which illuminate us with their splendours.
The strong light and the colours of the vegetation are favourite subjects for painters.

In this work, the yellowish greens, greens and yellows are pure and saturated. I love the way the light ultramarine blue, almost grey, contrasts with the greens, orange and yellow. The sky on the foliage and leaves and the last flowers of the summer. A colourful symphony, an evocation of the profusion of plants that I love so much in nature.

This painting is done in a gestural and spontaneous way, in a contemporary style that revisits this classic subject.
