Orange rosebush, acrylic and wax pastels, 35″X29.9″ (76X89 cm).

A semi-abstract painting where greens vibrate in contrast to oranges. The subject of this modern artwork is a contemporary interpretation of the plant world. The natural elements are freely evoked: flowers, roses perhaps (certainly) the profusion of plants in a garden.

Technically, this brightly coloured piece is made with acrylic, with a lot of transparency, and watersoluble wax pastels, in a gestural and spontaneous style. The wax pastel highlights provide graphisms that animate certain areas of the artwork, and allow for a colourful vibration, a play between the under and over of the paint.

The painting is protected with a glossy acrylic varnish. The edges are painted.
