Description

“Deep Blue”, oil on canvas, 35.4″X35.4″ (90X90 cm). Thickness of the stretcher: 0.78″ (2 cm).

This abstract artwork is entirely painted in oil glazes on a textured background which brings richness to the pictorial layer.
The glazes, these thin layers of transparent colours modify the tints. They bring a great richness and depth to the tones.
I used different kinds of blues to exploit all their nuances: turquoise, phthalocyanine, ultramarine, colbalt, with, sometimes, transparent touches of phthalo or emerald green, or green earth to add subtle tones.

The brighter part that attracts the eye, towards the centre of the painting, is done with a very pale and delicate transparent yellow brown, shaded with beautiful and subtle transparent greens, and soft shadows of green earth. Green earth is such a transparent pigment that it barely shades the other colours.

The edges are painted.

This painting will be delivered signed on the front and back, ready to hang, with an invoice and a signed certificate of authenticity.
